For easy peel hard boiled eggs try steaming them in a steam basket. The water comes to a boil so fast, allowing you to steam the eggs in 12 minutes! Cool down in an ice bath and the hard boiled eggs will be ready to eat. Perfect for deviled eggs, egg salad, or Cobb, Nicoise, or chef salad.

Ingredients:

  • One dozen eggs
  • Water
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Put an inch or two of water in the bottom of the large stock pot.
  2. Place your steamer basket in the bottom of the stock pot. Gently place your eggs inside the steamer basket.
  3. Bring the water to a rolling boil. Then turn the water down to a simmer. Cook the pot with a lid and set the timer for 12 minutes.
  4. Prepare an ice bath of water and ice in a bowl to cook the eggs down. When the 12 minutes are up, carefully remove the steamer basket with the eggs in it. Transfer the basket to the prepared ice bath to cool the eggs down. Once cool, transfer eggs to a towel to allow them to dry before storing in the refrigerator.
